Description: Falco has now worked on UK Power Networks infrastructure for over 15 years initially as a sub-contractor to, among others, Laing O’Rourke and Skanska. The company was awarded tier-1 contractor status in 2013 when winning a 4-year contract for London.
Four years later the company was appointed to provide planned and responsive services for the East of England area. Following a competitive tendering process in February 2022, we were reappointed as the primary groundworks provider for the LPN area following a 3-year hiatus along with a renewal of the EPN contract – making us a contractor in all of UKPN’s three operating areas – London, Eastern and Southern Power Networks (LPN, EPN and SPN).
The new combined contract to provide planned and responsive excavation services to cover faults, small services and unmetered connections (UMC) in the underground infrastructure of Britain’s largest electricity distributor is for an initial 4 year duration with an option to extend by 2 years.
As part of the contract Falco are responsible for providing planned and responsive excavation services to facilitate the repair and development of the underground infrastructure including substations, electrical link boxes and installing cable ducts around London and the Home Counties in a variety of locations often under significant engineering constraints which have been managed effectively throughout the design and construction phase.
Our operational teams undertake excavation and cable Installation activities as well as also r/c works, drainage, installation of blast walls and reinstatement for the refurbishment newbuild of sub stations.
